CHANGES

CHANGES

Time to start writing again.  It's been over a year since I contributed.  Lots of water has gone under the bridge.

We've lost Delbert's father, Red Rodgers and Delbert's mother, Hope Rodgers just about a year and a half ago.  Our granddaughter was married this month in a beautiful wedding with 300 in attendance.  We lost Barbara's mother, Pat Adams, this month, too.  Rudy Adams across the street died.  Cole's step granddad, Jack Armbruster, June's husband, over in Cape Conroe, died.

Jim and I are not feeling younger.  We're okay, though.  We're on our feet and moving!  He continues to be symptom free with his carcinoid tumors.  And apparently they are no longer growing.  Thank, God!

Jeana (our daughter) got a new job that she's very happy with and is no longer working at home.  She commutes to Kingwood, which is about an hour and a half drive from her home, but she's not complaining.  Eric is still with the Border Patrol and looking at empty nest syndrome soon.  Craig is working odd jobs in Props with a movie company, which he loves.  Still living on his beloved 8 acres.  Ross and Courtney have moved in together at Ross's house.  They are very happy, and Ross is doing very well with his artwork and maintaining his job as Vet Tech.  He's happy.  I'm always glad and happy when my sons and daughter are happy.

The grandchildren are prospering and doing well.  Alissa is a jr. in college.  Ryan is a sophomore at UT in Austin.  Katherine MacKie is graduating from college this year and will be teaching, and Danny, her brother, is graduating from high school, as is Matthew, Eric's youngest son,  We'll have no more grandchildren in the lower grades.  Cole High, Craig's son, will be either a Junior or a Senior in college this year.  Can't keep up;  it's hard.

Walden AND Montgomery County are fighting a battle with reckless drivers on the road.  I cannot tell you how bad the car accidents have been.  Most are caused by speed and texting.  People under 50 think they're super people, and then they run into somebody head on and kill everybody involved and don't live to tell about it.  So sad and scarey!  Whole families are being wiped out by one clueless driver at a time.

The Democrats continue to harass Trump, and he continues to prove his metal. But the world situation is not looking good to me.  It will get worse before it gets better, I'm fairly certain.  The abounding ignorance is too great.

Cousin Rosemary, my only remaining first cousin, is dying slowly of kidney cancer.  She opted not to have surgery or chemo.  She's 93.  This makes me sad.

BUT......THIS MAKES ME HAPPY.....THIS BEAUTIFUL PICTURE OF LAURA AND DREW!

Trying to legislate what goes on in the bedroom again! Tsk, tsk. With one in six being homosexual, transgender, or "other", it's foolhardy and arrogant to even want to prohibit their sexual behavior when they hold substantial jobs in our society and pay taxes like everybody else....not to mention their wonderful talents. If we lose them, we'll have to close down Broadway and the Film industry. Oh...and perhaps our schools of higher learning where many of our more learned professors are gays/lesbians. Homosexuality cannot be banned. Community standards will fall because of lack of balance. If you legislate homosexuals' sexlives, then you have to legislate everybody else's.

MUSINGS FROM FB

With the exception of an intelligent few, our news media in the paper, on the TV, and on the internet have become screamin' memes. Everything is TRAGIC or SHOCKING. Frankly, I'm sick of it. Please learn the difference between tragic, shocking, and just plain unfortunate happenstance. You're all beginning to sound like the Nat'l Enquirer and all those other hyped sleezeball trash newsmongers.

DECEMBER, 2014 THANGS!

The whole world is at 6's and 7's, and we are part of a whirlwind blowing in the ocean.

And Hillary is still lying!

A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE COURT HOUSE!

Several years ago, I was engaged in family researching in Bosque County, TX.  My mother was born there on the McKissick Ranch.  I needed her birth certificate in order to apply for membership in the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.

I drove over the the court house and tried to do a little research, but found little information.  They were getting ready to renovate the building, and it was messy inside.  So, disappointed, I came home.

About a year later, I decided to call to ask about a birth record on her, so I did.  I connected with the County Clerk and asked her about the birth records.

She replied, "Them records is in a trailer somewhere, and we don't know where it is."

THINGS NEGLECTED LATELY

Oh, good grief!  The world is not rosy anymore....the world is gray/black/ugly.    Reminds me of pre-WWII happenings.  I was only five at the time, but I remember nearly everything that was said on the radio about the things that happened right before WWII.  I wish with all my heart that I could leave this world in better shape, but I don't know how...I don't know how a 78 yr. old conservative woman can do that by herself.  It's quite complicated, you know.  It's Alice down the rabbit hole, Rapunzal letting down her hair, the wicked witch of the North, Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz.  And realistically...Hitler, the gestapo, the Jews.  Ohmygod.   Austwich.  Know what I mean?  Nero fiddling while Rome burns.  Yes.  It's complicated and scary and worrisome and more scary and just so preventable.  What is wrong with people...is there no vision anymore?  Can't they see where things are leading to?

We have neglected the important things that benefit us and given in to even more important things....like the destruction of our whole system of government and our nation.  Where are we now?
